Many if not most enterprises are standing up AI Governance teams, with representatives from the range of organizations impacted by AI, generally including Technology, Legal, HR, and Executive Suite, among others. What are we learning about the most effective way to run this inter-disciplinary board, so that the enterprise both satisfies its compliance requirements and also positions itself to succeed with its AI implementations? In this session, executives who have experience with the creation and workings of AI Governance boards will share their experiences and insights about how to prioritize work, ensure inter-departmental communications and alignment, and meet the enterprise's requirements across the spectrum of AI issues. You'll come away with ideas for how to improve the work your AI Governance team conducts, and where you may have gaps in this effort that need to be filled.

Takeaways:
  • Composition of the AI Governance board: Which organizations must be represented? What must each bring to the effort?
  • How should the board conduct its work on an ongoing basis?
  • What challenges should the board expect to confront, and how can these be overcome?
  • What specific issues should the technology organization(s) in particular expect in working with this cross-departmental group?
